About Erin Reed Carter

Based in of Laramie, WY, Erin Reed Carter (she/her) is a freelance costume designer, educator, illustrator and technician. Erin is proud to serve as an Assistant Professor of Theatre and Dance at the University of Wyoming, specializing in costume design and technology.
Her theatrical and themed entertainment work has been seen in venues across the country, including the Clarence Brown Theatre (Knoxville, TN), Texas Shakespeare Festival (Kilgore, TX), Silver Dollar City (Branson, MO) and Triad Stage (Greensboro, NC). Erin’s pedagogical practice focuses on the integration of costume design and technology to promote well-rounded, multifaceted designers and technicians.
In addition to her work at the University of Wyoming, Erin serves as an Advisor-at-Large for the USITT Costume Design & Technology Commission.
Erin has been honored for her work with the USITT Zelma H. Weisfeld Award for Costume Design and Technology. She has also showcased in USITT's Young Designer's Forum, at the National Design Portfolio Review in New York City and won First Place in Graduate Costume Design at SETC 2018 for her design of Peter and the Starcatcher.
